Get help with VoxDuel
Most problems are a microphone permission or a network quirk. Start here, and email us if none of it helps.
Common problems
- The app cannot hear me
- VoxDuel needs microphone access to work at all. On iOS, check Settings → VoxDuel → Microphone. On Android, check Settings → Apps → VoxDuel → Permissions → Microphone. If the permission is already on, close the app fully and reopen it.
- It says the voice model failed to load
- The on-device speech model is downloaded once on first launch. Make sure you have a connection and a few hundred megabytes of free storage, then reopen the app. If it keeps failing, reinstalling clears a partial download.
- My TV does not show up when I try to cast
- The phone and the TV have to be on the same Wi-Fi network, and on the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band consistently. On iOS, VoxDuel also needs Local Network permission — check Settings → VoxDuel → Local Network. Guest and corporate networks often block device discovery entirely.
- A room code will not connect
- Codes are six characters and expire when the host leaves the lobby. Confirm everyone is on the same network and ask the host to regenerate the code.
- An answer was marked wrong when I said it right
- Answer matching is phonetic and accepts aliases, but it can still miss regional pronunciations or unusual proper nouns. Report the specific prompt and what you said and we will add the alias.
