Why it plays differently
Trivia games test what you know. This one tests how fast you can say it.
VoxDuel runs speech recognition locally — whisper.cpp with Metal on iOS, ONNX with NNAPI on Android — and matches what you said against the answer and its aliases phonetically. Close pronunciations still count.
Your voice is the controller
No keyboards, no multiple choice, no tapping the right tile. You say the answer the way you would say it out loud to a friend.
Recognition runs on your phone
Speech is transcribed on-device, so answers register instantly and your audio is not uploaded or stored anywhere.
There is no skip button
Passing is a spoken decision with a real cost: a three-second lockout while your clock keeps running and the answer gets revealed.
Rounds are short and loud
A duel is over in a couple of minutes. It is built for the ten minutes before dinner, not a weekend campaign.

What is VoxDuel?
A real-time voice guessing duel. You see a visual or text prompt, say the answer out loud, and score on how fast and accurately you get it. Play party rounds on one phone, duel strangers online, or cast the whole thing to a TV.
How much does it cost?
VoxDuel is free to download and free to play.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. You can play local games as a guest straight away. A free account is only needed for online multiplayer and for saving stats across devices.
Is my voice recorded or sent to a server?
No. Speech recognition happens entirely on your device, and the audio is not uploaded or stored. Only the resulting game events — things like whether a round was won and how long it took — are sent, and only when you are playing online or contributing anonymous product analytics.
